Power went out from roughly 9:00pm to 12:20am. It was about a six block area affected. I am once again very grateful that my UPS kept my computer okay, long enough for me to save and shutdown.

However, Build's didn't work (same model) and we need a replacement for it. I wish I could afford an impressive battery bank so I wouldn't even notice a blackout for days at a time. But it is an expensive luxury compared to having a UPS for each computer.

I also went outside and shut off power to the inverter, not that it would do anything even if the sun was shining (it's got a safety feature that prevents it from feeding power to a dead grid). Tomorrow, I'll turn it back on when I'm sure that everything is back to normal.

EDIT: Checked SDGE's outage page, apparently the cause is "A vehicle has caused a problem with a power pole".

Friday the 13th:

Friday the 13th EBM Dance Party
Rochester, NY

TechNoir Events, the group that has hosted Buffalo's favorite goth/industrial dance party for the past two years, featuring EBM, Industrial, 80's and Goth music, will be hosting it's first EBM Dance Party in Rochester on the 13th of November, featuring two of Buffalo's favorite EBM/industrial DJs, DJ Arcatek (who has guest DJed at events such as EBMFest in Toronto) and the founder of TechNoir Events, DJ Nekrotique, who has guest DJed for numerous dance nights in Buffalo and on WBNY 91.3FM.

This dance party will provide an alternative venue for the local underground dance scene and we believe it will help to introduce people who are not familiar with this genre of dance music to a new style of music they will grow to love.

The music featured at this dance event will strictly adhere to TechNoir's "EBM ONLY" policy, so expect to hear bands that are involved in the following genres: EBM, Synthpop, FuturePop, Terror EBM/Hellektro, Rhythmic Noise, Harsh Industrial & more!

This will be the first electronic industrial dance night ever to be hosted at Montage. Montage will be transformed into a dance club for one evening with the use of intelligent lighting systems, black lights, fog machines & more. This event will be held in an energetic atmosphere that guarantees a fun time for all.

This event will be videotaped and turned into a short promotional video for TechNoir. So dress your best~go all out! Be insane!!

We are pleased to announce that CypherLOX (dread falls and cyber accessories) will be vending at this dance event! Cypherlox.com offers quality custom hairpieces and extensions, including dread falls, cyberlox falls, plastic/foam/tubing falls, silky curl falls, straight hair falls, dread extensions and more! Since 2004 they have produced thousands of custom hairpiece orders and supplies to customers worldwide, and has been noticed for their unique dread style and monstrous mixed media hairpieces. Cypherlox also offers extension appointments in Ohio and surrounding areas. Their goal is to provide a completely custom experience with virtually no limits when it comes to creativity. In addition to hairpieces, cypherlox.com sells supplies for those of you who make your own hairpieces. This includes many types of braiding hair, crin/cyberlox, plastics, foam, tubing, and even other items like goggles, hair dye, hair streaks, accessories and more!
